Your magical day may be captured by selfies and cell phones… but having a professional photographer is a must-have for any wedding.
First, you want to establish your photo aesthetic. The best way to determine what style photography you want for your wedding is to look through website galleries and social media of the photographers you are considering. Are you looking for a more rustic, saturated feel? Do you want your photos to be bright and modern?
Consider photograph types you will be requesting as well. Do you want a long set of staged, formal photos or would you prefer an album filled with candids? Is it more important you to capture the décor and details or your guests and their reactions? Also be sure to ask if your photographer has a second shooter or assistant to produce multiple angles and perspectives of your shots (ex: one photographer stands at the end of the aisle during the ceremony to capture it as a whole while the other is by your side to photograph your personal reactions).
